Chief of Busunya commends local teachers for boosting quality of

education

Busunya (B/A) Sept. 28, GNA- Nana Yaw Amo, Krontihene of Busunya, near Nkoranza, has commended teachers of the local Roman Catholic Junior Secondary School, for the excellent performance of candidates at the 2004 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Out of the 21 candidates presented, only two of them failed, thus placing the School at the seventh position, among the 42 schools in the District.

Master Amos Ohene Gyan, one of the candidates obtained aggregate 8 and was the over all best student in the District.

Nana Amo told the Ghana News Agency at Busunya, that the citizens had expressed appreciation for the honour and prestige the teachers had brought to the community.

He said as a result, a number of parents in the neighbouring communities were enrolling their children in the school.

Nana Amo called on parents to cooperate with the teachers in promoting discipline and improving the standard of education. He advised the teachers not to rest on their oars but to redouble their efforts to improve on their performance.

The students should also be respectful and obedient to their teachers to encourage a good learning environment.
