Assemblyman elected NDC candidate.

Juaso (Ash), Sept. 28, GNA – Mr De Graft Kwaku Fokuo, an Administrator, was at the weekend elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Asante-Akim South Constituency to contest Election 2004.

Mr Fokuo, who is an Assemblyman, was elected unopposed at the party’s delegates’ conference, attended by 68 members at Juaso in Ashanti.

The Electoral Commission (EC) supervised the election. Mr Yaw Bempah, Ashanti Regional Organiser of NDC, advised members of the Party to remain united and to offer good support for the candidate to win the seat.

Mr Bempah said: “This is the time that foot soldiers within the constituency should move into action and explain the Party’s manifesto to the people and market the candidate”.

Mr Fokuo expressed his gratitude to the delegates for the honour done him and said: “I have the conviction that NDC will take the parliamentary seat this year because the indications are that the ground is fertile for the Party to win.”
