CPP parliamentary candidate for Nkawkaw

Nkawkaw (E/R), Sept. 26, GNA- The Nkawkaw constituency branch of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) has elected Mr Fredrick Osei, popularly known as “Kwaku Hotel”, a 59-year-old hotelier, as the party’s parliamentary candidate at a party delegates’ conference at Nkawkaw on Saturday.

He was elected unopposed by all the 92 delegates.

Addressing the delegates after the election, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Nana Owusu Sekyere, said the party had elected 24 candidates out of the 28 constituencies in the region and urged the delegates and supporters of the party to intensify their campaign. He asked them to educate the youth about numerous projects constructed by the Founder and the First President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah and vote for the party in December elections. Nana Owusu Sekyere said a government of the CPP would rehabilitate the educational and health sectors and create jobs for the unemployed. The Regional Chairman said no political party or government could destroy the CPP and advised all supporters of the party who are going with other parties, to rejoin the party.

The Regional Secretary of the Party, Mr Kwabena Apea, also urged Ghanaians to examine themselves before casting their votes wisely. Mr Osei thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and urged them to give him the needed support and co-operation for the party to win the Parliamentary seat from the NPP.

In another development, a 43-year-old teacher, Ms Doreen Aboagyewaa Tawiah, was elected by acclamation as the CPP parliamentary candidate for the Ayirebi-Ofoase constituency at a delegates’ conference on Saturday at Ofoase in the Eastern Region.
