Organizations donate to Plastic Waste Management C’ttee

Accra, Sept. 17, GNA – Three organizations on Friday made various donations to the National Plastic Waste Management Committee for them to work towards a clean environment.

The organizations, The Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, Blowplast Industries Limited and the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association made the donation in fulfilment of a pledge made at the launch of the National Plastic Waste Management Task Force.

Blowplast Industries Limited gave 105 wheelbarrows worth 21 million cedis, Coca Cola Company Limited gave a cheque of 20 million cedis and the Ghana Plastic Waste Manufacturers Association gave 50 million cedis as a monthly donation to the Committee.

Mr Ebo Botwey, President of the Ghana Plastic Manufacturers Association, said it is the second time the Association was giving out money to support the Committee.

Mr Ishmael Ashitey, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and President’s Special Initiatives, who received the donation urged all Ghanaians to be actively involved in the cleaning of the country, especially dealing with plastic waste.
