Tomato farmers cry for rehabilitation of roads

Buoyem (B/A), Sept. 11, GNA- Tomato farmers in Techiman Municipality have called for the rehabilitation of roads linking farming villages and marketing centres to enhance easy transportation of their produce in Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Kofi Yeboah, a spokesman for the farmers who spoke to the Ghana News Agency said the roads had become bad as a result of recent heavy rains.

He said the poor state of the roads prevented vehicles from Plying in the area and expressed the fear that the produce might go bad if they start harvesting the crops.

He mentioned the roads as Buoyem, Tuobodom, Akonkonti and Bonya and appealed to the Municipal Assembly and the Department of Feeder Roads to help rehabilitate them.
