Awutu Bawjiase Rural Bank pays 82 million cedis revenue to Govt

Awutu Bawjiase, Sept. 10, GNA -Due to the prudent management of resources, the Awutu Bawjiase Area Rural Bank, in the Central Region, was able to pay 82 million cedis, as revenue to the Government, last year, representing twice the amount paid in 2002.

Mr Emmanuel K. Osei, Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, disclosed this at Awutu-Bawjiase on Thursday, during a meeting with beneficiaries of a micro credit scheme, instituted by the financial institution. He assured shareholders of the Bank’s ability to pay better dividends to them in future.

Mr Osei asked the beneficiaries of the credit scheme to carry out profitable ventures to help alleviate the massive poverty in the Bank’s operational areas.

Mr Samuel Kontoh Dodd, Vice Chairman of the Board, asked the shareholders to regard the annual general meetings of the Bank, with all seriousness, since it constitute the most important business operations.
