Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole has urged his old club to make a move for the in-form forward, describing the potential signing as an obvious decision if the player becomes available.
Speaking with a hint of humour, Cole joked about Chelsea’s preference for younger recruits, saying: “Knowing Chelsea, he might be too old! I’d have to check his age.” But beyond the light-hearted remark, he made clear his admiration for the forward’s quality and suitability for the Premier League giants.
Cole insisted that, from a purely footballing standpoint, the signing would make perfect sense. “If he’s available and he wants to come, it’s a no-brainer in terms of bringing him into the football club,” he said.
Chelsea have been linked with several attacking options as they look to boost their firepower, and Cole’s endorsement adds further weight to growing calls for a more direct, physical presence in their forward line. Whether the club acts on his recommendation remains to be seen, but interest in the Bournemouth attacker continues to rise across England.
