Mfantsipim College’s 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) victory upon the admirations it has received, is again set to bring positive effect on schools in the Cape Coast Metropolis.
This follows a trophy visit by the school to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) to share its attained excitement from the NSMQ competition with the Cape Coast Mayor on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
The visit saw the school’s headmaster, contestants, teachers and other staffs, accompanied by the school’s entertaining brass band team who swept staffs of the Cape Coast Assembly off their feet with delightable tunes.
Hon. George Justice Arthur, the Mayor of Cape Coast, speaking at the gathering upon donationg a cash prize of GH¢2,000 to the school, observed that the Assembly has found out a number projects in the school which are yet to be completed.
In this regard, he assured the school authorities to revisit such stalled project, having had the Assembly thought through that to extend its tentacles to have other schools within the metropolis with similar stalled facilities gain the needed attention sooner than later.
He then took the opportunity to congratulate the school, particularly contestants for the competition for bringing such honour not only to Mfantsipim, but the entire city of Cape Coast and further availed himself to offer whatsoever support within his means to the school whenever the need arises.
Headmaster for Mfantsipim, Rev. Ebenezer Aidoo, took the platform to extend his heartfelt appreciation to the Cape Coast Mayor for his hospitality and support extended to the school, but promised to do even more to have the school standout among its compatriots.
He added that the school will derive pleasure from its back-to-back NSMQ emergence to serve as a morale booster to offer high quality education to its students in the school’s strive for academic excellence.
