Police caution public on bank robbery attacks

Accra, Sept. 10, GNA – The Ghana Police Service on Friday asked customers who withdraw huge sums of money to contact the nearest District Police Commanders for any assistance before withdrawing such monies.

The advice, contained in a statement signed by Police Inspector A.K. Arthur, Public Relations Directorate further asked customers who carry huge sums of monies from one spot to another to contact managers of their respective banks to discuss the safest means of conveying such monies.

The Police said reports reaching them indicated that some customers have fallen victim to robbery attacks after withdrawing monies from the banks.

The police noted that robbers normally trailed their victims from the banks to their homes or offices. It said, “Those leaving the bank premises should be on the lookout for any car or person who might be following them.” 10 Sept. 04
