Brøndby midfielder Noah Nartey has reaffirmed his commitment to representing Denmark at international level, despite acknowledging interest from Ghana.
The 18-year-old, who has Ghanaian heritage, revealed that conversations had taken place regarding the possibility of switching allegiance. However, he stressed that his priority remains firmly with Denmark, the country he has represented throughout his youth career.
“Of course there is something with Ghana, and there has also been contact,” Nartey told Danish outlet Bold.dk. “But what I am focused on is playing for Denmark and qualifying for a very great and important European Championship.”
Nartey, regarded as one of Brøndby’s brightest young prospects, has been part of Denmark’s youth setup for years and says that continuity matters to him.
“It’s Denmark that I have represented my entire life and it’s them that I will continue to represent,” he added.
His comments come at a time when several dual-nationality players with Ghanaian roots have been weighing international options. But for Nartey, the decision is clear, his ambitions lie with Denmark’s national teams as he continues his development in the Danish Superliga.
