The NPP’s recent galamsey press conference was a complete waste of time. They wasted 8 years chasing only illegal miners who were not their party members and they failed to come up with any solution.
They shouldn’t hurriedly jump into conclusion within this first year to make any irrelevant and irresponsible statement on galamsey. This government is listening and trying its best to fix the problem, unlike their time when the whole Jubilee House was deeply involved in galamsey activities, according to Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.
It will take some time for this government to fix the galamsey devastations in terms of water pollutions and land degradations, caused by the previous NPP government. Their party members, government officials and their Chinese counterparts created serious damages to the environment which will cost the nation billions of dollars. The government is now struggling to raise funds to address the problem.
Instead of wishing doom for President Mahama and the Executives on the galamsey issues, they should rather support the government to solve the problem so that we all succeed in the fight against galamsey. If the government fails, we will all fail and continue to consume polluted water full of heavy metals.
We will continue to experience the alarming rate of dangerous diseases, including cancers, kidney diseases, liver diseases, new baby deformities, etc.
