GPL: Hearts Of Oak Beat Basake Holy Stars 2-1 Away

Accra Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The Phobians, determined to bounce back after a difficult run of results, showed early intent and were rewarded before half-time. Star forward Hamza Issah was brought down in the box after a clever run, winning a penalty for the visitors. Skipper Duku calmly converted from the spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to give Hearts the lead.

After the break, Hearts maintained control of the game and doubled their advantage with another well-worked move before the hour mark. However, the home side refused to give up, pulling one back from the spot in the 68th minute to set up a nervy finish.

Despite late pressure from Basake Holy Stars, the Phobians held firm to secure all three points, a result that lifts spirits in the camp as they look to regain consistency in the league.
