A 21-year-old woman, identified as Maafua, has allegedly stabbed her 29-year-old husband, Kofi, during a heated argument over food at Mamanso in the Eastern Region.
According to Maafia the woman she stated that, misunderstanding began when Kofi gave Maafua money to prepare banku and okro stew. However, Maafua explained that the money was not enough, so she decided to prepare light soup instead.
When Kofi returned home from work and realized the change in meal, he confronted his wife, questioning why she had disobeyed his request. Maafua reportedly told him that the money he provided was insufficient for okro stew and that she had even saved part of it for future use.
An argument ensued, leading to a physical fight. During the scuffle, Kofi allegedly picked up a knife, which Maafua managed to snatch from him and allegedly used to stab him.
An eyewitness, Atta Mallam hinted to Ananse News that, the suspect Maafua did the action deliberately.
Kofi’s brother, Francis, who was in another room at the time, said he heard the commotion and rushed in to find his brother injured. He quickly took him to the New Abirem Government Hospital for treatment.
