300,000 Euro Security “Palaver”: Akomea Responds

Three hundred thousand Euros is no mean money. Thus, when it came out that the people at the Office of the National Security Co-ordinator had gone misusing that amount of the tax-payers sweat, it decided on a non-holds barred investigations immediately.

On the prowl, documents sighted by the GHANAIAN VOICE indicated that the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the Research Department of the Foreign Affairs are being supervised by the National Security Co-ordinator.

According to the GHANAIAN VOICE the Information Minister, Hon Akomea, who would not have obliged anyone with explanations, as national security issues must never be made public, had to come out to explain the issues.

He disclosed that the 300,000 Euros was not misused by the National Security Co-ordinator as was being peddled.

He said, a genuine request was put in by the Research Department of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and as it is the National Security Office which co-ordinates the work of the three department under its ambit, the letter from the Finance Ministry had to be routed through the place.
