The Health Director emphasized the importance of having a mammogram machine in the municipality, stating that it would enable residents to access screening services without having to travel long distances to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The appeal comes on the back of a breast cancer awareness campaign launch and screening exercise organized by the Sunyani Municipal Health Directorate at the municipal hospital on Tuesday.
Dr. Adinkra told Kaakyire Kwasi Afari of Sunyani-based Ark fm that by acquiring a mammogram machine, the municipality can take a significant step towards improving breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
