Workshop on water management underway in Techiman

Techiman (B/A) Sept. 1 GNA – The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), is organising a five-day workshop to equip participants from four selected districts in the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions with water management skills.

The 40 participants at the United Sates Agency for International Development, sponsored workshop, were drawn from Techiman, Kintampo and Nkoranza in Brong Ahafo and Offinso in Ashanti.

They are being taken through topics like: Leadership roles of Water and Sanitation Committees, Team Building, Fund Raising and the Maintenance of Pumps.

Mrs Evelyn Coffie-Adjei, Brong Ahafo Regional Nutrition and Health Field Project Officer of ADRA, urged the participants to assist their communities to keep their surroundings and water points clean. She announced that ADRA would provide beneficiary communities with pipes for the construction of toilet facilities.

Mrs Comfort Tetteh, of the Department of Community Development, urged the participants to monitor the operations of water projects to help prolong their lifespan. 01 Sept.04
