Saltpond Hospital gets support from NGO, Church

Saltpond (C/R), Aug. 30, GNA – Village Out-reach Networks, a non-governmental organisation based in the United States has presented hospital equipment to the Saltpond Government Hospital. The items, worth several millions of cedis include blood glucose monitors, test strips, packet of lancets, blood pressure monitor and information sheets.

Madam Victoria Hanson who presented the items on behalf of her son, Mr. Ato Olise-Aikins, President of the Saltpond branch of the organisation said the organisation was non-profit making but offered primary healthcare to needy communities world-wide.

She said the organisation was also involved in the delivery of appropriate medical supplies, medical education on basic technologies to improve access to affordable healthcare to rural populations. She commended Dr. Susan Errlenorn of Oak Park Illinois and Dr. Woo of Loyola Medical Centre, whose efforts made it possible for the equipment to be delivered.

Ms Margaret Minnah, Deputy Director of Nursing Service who received the items on behalf of the Hospital thanked the donors and assured them that they would be put to a good use.

In a related development, the Methodist Church at Anomabo has presented food items including rice, milk, sugar and fruits to the Hospital.
