Tema, Aug. 30, GNA- A 30-year-old teacher at Ashaiman who impregnated his own class pupil, aged 14, has been sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment by the Tema circuit court ‘B’. Daniel Sedafor pleaded not guilty.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor, told the court that about six months ago, the teacher proposed love to his pupil who later agreed.
Chief Inspector Nutakor said initially, Sedafor sent the pupil to his house at Roman Down, Ashaiman, where he forcibly had sex with her. The prosecution said later the teacher sent the girl to other places at Ashaiman and had sex with her on 11 different occasions. Inspector Nutakor said later when the victim’s mother got to know of her daughter’s ordeal and sent her to hospital. Upon medical examination, it was detected that the girl was two months old pregnant.
When the girl was confronted, she mentioned his class teacher as the one who impregnated her.
