Accra Hearts of Oak have assured fans that the club is working tirelessly to resolve a FIFA-imposed registration ban stemming from unresolved financial obligations owed to former Dutch coach Rene Hiddink.
In a statement issued on Friday, 22 August 2025, the Phobians confirmed FIFA’s decision, which prevents them from registering new players until the debt is cleared. However, the club was quick to calm fears, clarifying that all player registrations for the current season had already been completed before the ban took effect, meaning there would be no immediate disruption to the squad or ongoing competitions.
“The Management and Board are actively engaging all relevant parties, including the Ghana Football Association and FIFA, to resolve the matter swiftly and responsibly,” the statement read.
Acknowledging the concerns of supporters, the club’s leadership appealed for unity, pledging transparency, accountability, and a commitment to long-term stability.
Hearts of Oak, whose slogan “Never say die” was echoed in the release, urged fans to remain patient as discussions continue. Management expressed confidence that a constructive resolution would soon be reached.
The ban, if unresolved, could see the club sidelined in up to three transfer windows, heightening pressure on officials to settle the issue swiftly.
