Pragya Riders Association embarks on massive reforms to improve it’s operation in Dormaa Ahenkro – Chairman

The Chairman of the Pragya Riders Association in Dormaa Ahenkro, located in the Bono Region, Mr. Bediako Winston, who is also known as Dada Bediako, has disclosed several reforms implemented by the Association’s leadership. These reforms aim to regulate the Pragya Riders and enhance operations within the Dormaa Ahenkro township and its surrounding communities.

According to the Chairman, every Pragya in Dormaa Ahenkro will soon undergo registration to mitigate the incidence of Pragya theft and unsafe riding practices. Additionally, there will be a monthly dues payment of Gh¢5.00, which will be collected every four months in the form of sticker purchases, priced at Gh¢20.00 for a four-month period, followed by renewal.

He urged all Pragya riders to comply with these new reforms to avoid any interference from the police and the Association’s leadership. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of adhering to the new fair reduction adjustment and encouraged residents to accept it in the event of an increase in Pragya fares.

Mr. Bediako Winston stated that, although the government is striving to commercialize the Pragya business, but it has not yet been accomplished, hence, the Association leadership in Dormaa Ahenkro is making efforts to ensure safe riding practices.

He noted that they have decided that individuals under the age of 18 will not be permitted to ride a Pragya. Furthermore, any registered member who allows an underage individual to use their Pragya will face severe penalties, along with the underage individual who attempts to violate the Association’s rules and regulations. This initiative is aimed at promoting safety and preventing accidents.
