At Independence Square, emotions ran high when young Setor — whose life-saving surgery had been fully sponsored by the late Defence Minister, Dr. Omane Boamah — was asked if he knew the person who funded his operation. Upon seeing the Minister’s photograph, Setor gently pointed at it.
Though the two had never met in person before the tragic helicopter crash that claimed Dr. Boamah’s life, the boy’s instant recognition of his benefactor moved mourners to tears.
