ccra, Aug. 26, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday appealed to African Leaders in conflict areas to co-operate with the African Union (AU) and United Nations Security Council to find lasting solution to the many conflicts on the Continent.

He said the Council’s commitment to peace would succeed only when nations in conflict agreed to work to find solutions to their conflicts. President Kufuor made the appeal when he received the Letters of Credence of Mr Daniel Yohannes, the first Ambassador of Eritrea to Ghana, based in Abuja-Nigeria, at the Castle, Osu.

He pledged Ghana’s commitment to ensure the implementation of the spirit and framework of the AU to find lasting solution to conflicts on the Continent, adding, ” Africa has suffered for far too long in conflicts and this must stop”.

Mr Yohannes pledged to enhance the relationship between both countries.

” I believe that Ghana and Eritrea can together enhance the economic and political integration that Africa needs at this particular moment”, he said.
