The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has confirmed that this year’s Top Four tournament will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium after the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi was deemed unfit for use.
The preseason competition, which kicks off on 20 August, was initially scheduled for Kumasi. However, National Sports Authority boss Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, after inspecting the pitch, declared it unsuitable to host even “colts football.”
The Accra venue, which will also stage Ghana’s World Cup qualifier against Mali on 8 September will now welcome last season’s Ghana Premier League top four finishers: Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
