NDC elects parliamentary candidate for Mpohor-Wassa East

Daboase (W/R) Aug. 25, GNA – Mr Joseph Kobina Danyame, a 38-year-old Businessman, was on Tuesday elected as the Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for Mpohor-Wassa East.

He defeated Mr Albert Abrefah Awotwe, 45, an Educationist, by 154 to 102 votes at a delegates’ conference at Daboase.

Madam Tabitha Quaye, Acting Regional Chairperson of the NDC, commended members of the main opposition Party, for conducting primaries in the 19 the constituencies in the Western Region without any incident.

“The smooth conduct of the primaries is the beginning of the struggle to return the NDC to political power.”

She said although the NDC was firmly on the ground, loyalty and dedication of members was necessary to ensure electoral victory in Election 2004.

Mr Danyame thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and said he would work hard to ensure the victory of the Party.
