Mahama Appoints Eight New Ambassadors to Strengthen Ghana’s Diplomatic Presence

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated eight individuals to serve as Ghana’s Ambassadors and High Commissioners to various countries, following consultations with the Council of State.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, confirmed the nominations, which form part of government’s ongoing effort to enhance diplomatic engagement and deepen bilateral cooperation with key international partners.

The nominees include:

  1. Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah – Ambassador-designate to Namibia
  2. Kojo Choi – Ambassador-designate to South Korea
  3. Dr. Kwame Ampofo – Ambassador-designate to Hungary
  4. Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey – Ambassador-designate to Italy
  5. Magnus Kofi Amoatey – Ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
  6. Kenneth Akibate – Ambassador-designate to Burkina Faso
  7. Said Saleh Sinare – Ambassador-designate to Saudi Arabia
  8. Paul Evans Aidoo – High Commissioner-designate to Kenya

In a related development, President Mahama has also appointed Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow as Ghana’s new envoy to the Vatican City State, replacing Mrs. Satirich Dorcas Ocran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to commence all necessary arrangements to facilitate the deployment of the nominees to their respective posts in accordance with standard diplomatic protocols.
