In a media engagement at Circle Tip Toe Lane – Accra, the Mobile Phones and Accessories Dealers Associations Ghana in Circle are pleading with the authorities and the government to intervene in the mobile phones and accessories business, since the Nigerians, Japanese, Pakistanis, Chinese and Burkinabes are now doing the retail businesses in Ghana.
According to them, the PNDC Law stipulates how foreigners should do business in Ghana so they should enforce the law and make it work properly to curb intruding foreigners who are gradually taken control over their business in Ghana.
Mr. Eric Gyamfi , the chairman of the Association pleaded with President Mahama to help the businessmen and women in Ghana to utilize the rules which Cocoboard and the GoldBod are using now.
Mr. Eric Gyamfi – Chairman for the Association outlined that it’s killing their business in the country.
He added that, there are some guys called “Wopɛdɛn” who are making their selling and buying difficult for them.
Mr. Gyamfi admonished how over 3,000 people who have been employed by them will become jobless if foreigners take over their businesses.
This will increase the Ghanaian youths unemployment rate.
Mr. Gyamfi urged the government to remember his promise of reducing the youth unemployment rate.
