NDC Urges NPP to “Reset” and Embrace Constructive Opposition for Ghana’s Sake

The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to use its National Delegates Conference as a turning point to become a more responsible and constructive political force.

Speaking at the University of Ghana Stadium on behalf of the NDC, the party’s Director of Logistics and Protocol, Ludwig Hlordze, delivered a message of solidarity that struck a tone of unity and reflection.

“We want to take this opportunity to wish you well as you gather to reset your party in a manner as to play your role as a responsible opposition party,” Hlordze said.

He noted that Ghana as a nation is at a critical juncture, politically and economically, and urged all parties to reflect deeply and adjust their approach to politics.

“The country, Ghana, is going through a reset process. It is very important that we, as political parties, reset our ideas, policies, and programs,” he added.

While partisan rivalry has long defined Ghana’s political landscape, Hlordze’s remarks were seen as a rare show of interparty goodwill. He praised the NPP for making efforts to reposition itself and urged the party to play its role through constructive engagement.

“That is why we are happy that the biggest opposition party in our country is doing exactly that, to reset and play their role with constructive criticism, to support the nation builder John Mahama, to rebuild the Ghana we all want,” he said.

The NDC’s comments come amid growing calls for political parties to rise above entrenched divisions and work collaboratively to address Ghana’s economic and social challenges.
