NPP COMMUNICATOR CALL FOR CANCELLATION OF BY-ELECTION

A member of the Ahafo NPP and Tano South NPP Communication team Mr. Samuel Bonsu has suggested that by-election should be cancelled to prevent future electoral violence.

Mr Samuel Bonsu suggested that parliament should look through the constitution and make amendments for parties whom the member of parliament belongs to choose a replacement for vacant seat.

Using Ayawaso, Ablekuma North, and other By-election for a case study, he said, it is time for the entire country to start looking through this proposal for the seek of future occurrences.

He argued that electoral violence happened most during bye elections than general elections. For that matter, it is reasonable for the entire country to be proactive in handling it.

Additionally, he said that if the member of parliament belongs to NPP, the constitution should permit the leadership of the party to automatically appoint a replacement for the vacant seat.
