Ghana’s energy infrastructure boosted with completion of ENI gas supply upgrade

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a major upgrade to Ghana’s gas infrastructure by Italian energy company ENI.

The enhancement has increased daily gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.

The Ministry described the upgrade as a “significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation.” The increased capacity is expected to support Ghana’s power generation efforts, contributing to economic growth and industrial development.

In a statement, the Ministry thanked ENI and stakeholders in the power sector for their efforts in executing the project. It also expressed gratitude to citizens for their patience and cooperation during the upgrade process.

Richmond Rockson, Spokesperson and Head of Communication at the Ministry, signed the statement, which reiterated the government’s commitment to delivering consistent and dependable power supply to Ghanaians.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving energy security and national development.

The upgrade is seen as a crucial milestone in Ghana’s drive towards a reliable and sustainable energy future.
