TVET STUDENTS ENCOURAGED TO EMBRACE DIGITAL SKILLS FOR JOB CREATION

The Ashanti regional Director for Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Engineer Richard Addo Gyamfi has underscored the critical need for TVET students to embrace environmental digital transformation to align with the evolving demands of the 21st-century workforce.
Ing Richard Gyamfi encouraged TVET students to develop strong digital skills to enhance their employability and future career prospects in a rapidly evolving digital world. This includes learning how to effectively use digital tools, navigate online resources, and adapt to the changing demands of the modern workplace.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of Kumawu Technical Institute, the Ashanti regional Director for TVET stressed that many jobs, even those traditionally considered non-digital, now require some level of digital literacy, hence, embracing digital skills can make TVET graduates more competitive in the job market and open up a wider range of employment possibilities.
He said Digital skills can empower TVET graduates to start their businesses, leveraging online platforms for marketing, sales, and customer management.

The Principal of Kumawu Technical Institute, Mr Godwin Owusu Yeboah, speaking to the media after the graduation ceremony, used the occasion to appeal to the government and other NGOs to support the school with infrastructure to accommodate more students, assist them with employable skills, and reduce youth unemployment.

The Member of Parliament for Kumawu Hon Ernest Yaw Anim and the District Chief Executive Mr Akwasi Amankwaa who were part of the grace occasion pledged their support on behalf of the government to support the institution.
