Cina Soul Raises Alarm Over Death Threat by Big Akwes on Live TV

Singer Cina Soul has expressed fear for her life following a disturbing on-air death threat made by actor Big Akwes during a live broadcast on Bryt TV.

The incident occurred during a segment of the station’s Kiss–Marry–Kill game, where Big Akwes shockingly declared that he would “kill Cina Soul.” He further elaborated in graphic detail, claiming he would summon her spiritually, stab her repeatedly, and drink her blood.

The comments, made without objection from the show’s hosts or producers, have drawn outrage from viewers and sparked widespread concern on social media.

Responding to the incident on X (formerly Twitter), Cina Soul, born Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, tagged the Ghana Police Service, Communications Minister Sam George, and the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation.

“@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point I feel genuinely threatened,” she wrote.

She added, “@samgeorgegh @mocghana I may not know the proper channels to report this, but it’s critical we take a firm stance against this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms. We must not normalise hate.”

Cina Soul’s post quickly gained traction, with many fans, public figures, and rights advocates calling for immediate action against both Big Akwes and Bryt TV for allowing the remarks to go unchecked.

This is not the first time Big Akwes has publicly targeted the singer. In April 2025, he body-shamed her during a segment on Max TV, criticizing her appearance in a promotional dance video for her Did I Lie? album. Though Max TV later apologized, Big Akwes’ refused to retract his comments.
