Hon. Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, the Minister for Interior, has cried foul over what he suspects to be a systematic plot by pro-NDC newspapers to run down the reputations of people in the Kufuor Administration.
The Interior Minister, who is also the MP for New Juabeng North, intimated that realising that they lack the clout and credibility of other newspapers in the country, the NDC mouth-pieces have taken a poetic licence to publish stories which they can?t authenticate or prove.
The Hon. Minister stated these in an exclusive interview with the paper in Accra in reaction to media reports that he had ordered the assault and detention in police custody, of a certain Mavis de Graft Turkson, by one of his bodyguards, resulting in the hospitalisation of the house help.
According to the DAILY GUIDE, the Minister also denied a publication by the same pro-NDC newspaper that he had abused his office to acquire a state-of-the-art Mercedes Benz saloon car.
He revealed that throughout his life, he has bought and driven 15 brand-new Mercedes Benz cars.
?I bought my first Benz in 1975?, he recalled.
