Nsawam Odo Kroye Kuw plants trees

Nsawam (E/R), Aug. 18, GNA – Members of the Odo Kroye Kuw, a benevolent society at Adoagyiri Zabu Zongo in the Akuapim South District of the Eastern Region at the weekend planted over 400 trees along the banks of River Densu and the surroundings of the Nsawam Government Hospital.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency after the exercise, Mr Stephen Adjei Boateng, Chairman of the Society said the move was their contribution towards protection of rivers and prevention of rainstorms in the area. Mr Samuel Opoku Gyima, Vice Chairman of the Society said, the trees would also serve as shades and also beautify the town as well as prevent the River Densu from drying up during the dry season, for it is the only source of drinking water in the area and for most parts of Accra. Nana Eric Anim, Assemblyman for the area commended the society for the gesture and appealed to other societies to emulate them.
