One of Accra’s most celebrated nightlife hotspots, Garage, is officially closing its doors after five and a half years of thrilling music, vibrant parties, and unforgettable memories.
In a heartfelt announcement posted on its Instagram page on Tuesday, June 18, 2025, the club confirmed that Sunday, June 29, will mark their final night of operations.
The announcement, titled “End of an Era – Thank You Accra,” expressed deep gratitude to patrons, performers, and staff who made Garage what it was — a movement, not just a venue.
“What started as a bold idea turned into a movement,” the post read. “A place where Accra came alive with music, flavor, culture, and unforgettable memories.”
Located in the bustling heart of East Legon, Garage carved out a reputation as one of the go-to spots for nightlife in Accra. Known for its electric atmosphere, cutting-edge music, and a diverse crowd, the lounge played host to countless nights of dance, celebration, and community building.
Though the exact reason for the closure was not disclosed, the announcement left many loyal patrons emotional. The comment section of the Instagram post was flooded with mixed reactions — some commended the club for its incredible run and impact on the city’s social scene, while others expressed sadness and disappointment over its sudden end.
Despite the closure, the team behind Garage reassured fans that this is not a final goodbye, but rather the closing of a chapter.
“You made it what it was. This isn’t goodbye forever. Just the end of this chapter,” the statement said.
As the countdown to the final night begins, Garage has invited everyone who ever danced, drank, or celebrated there to return “one last time” on Sunday, June 29, for what promises to be a historic closing event.
