Man and fiancee grabbed for stealing coconut oil

Tuobodom (B/A), Aug 18, GNA – A magistrate court sitting at Tuobodom in Techiman Municipality on Wednesday remanded Kofi Abedzie, a 21-year-old self-employed, for stealing a drum of coconut oil.

Abedzie pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing and the court issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Alima Issifu, his fianc=E9e, who is charged with abetment of crime.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Comfort Nyamesah told the court that in March Mr Charles Osei, a trader, left the oil in the care of Madam Yaa Basare at Techiman Abanim.

But Madam Basare could not find the oil the next day and police investigations revealed that the accused sent the oil to a woman at Abanim as a pledge for 100,000 cedis loan.
