42-year-old Blacksmith commits suicide

Ho, Aug. 17, GNA- The Ho Police is investigating a suspected suicide of a 42-year-old Blacksmith, Cherubim Akakpo, at the Weekend.

The Ho District Police Commander, Mr Nicholas Blewushie, told the Ghana News Agency that Cherubim who lived with his 16-year-old daughter, was found in his room on Saturday kneeling on his bed with one end of his cover cloth tied around his neck and the other tied to the ceiling beam.

Mr Blewushie said 76,000 cedis and two tablets suspected to be valium were found on him.

He said Cherubim who hailed from Wuduaba in the Ketu District, was behaving abnormally before his death.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Volta Regional Hospital for transfer to the Police Hospital in Accra, for autopsy.
