“Apeegie” elected NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia

Kumasi, August 15, GNA- Mr Kwame Boateng, alias “Apeegie”, 57, a timber operator in Kumasi, was on Saturday elected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Manhyia. This was by acclamation as he was the only candidate who filed his nomination to contest the seat on the ticket of the party.

Addressing the 254 delegates after the election, Mr Boateng promised to lead the NDC to wrestle the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said the NPP had nothing to boast of in the constituency and that given total the commitment, hard work and sacrifice from all members and activists of the NDC, “there is no way we cannot win the seat”.

“Let us therefore collectively accept to remain focused and work tirelessly to reach out to every voter in this constituency, by moving from house-to-house with our party’s campaign message”, he said.

Mr Kwame Nti-Fordjour, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, asked supporters of the party to co-operate and support Mr Boateng to win the seat.
