UBA organizes final 2017 ‘Jogging to Bond’ games

Staff of the United Bank for Africa (Ghana) Limited, were over the weekend taken through a healthy exercise to mark their final Jogging to Bond fun games which is organised by the bank every quarter to boost the health of workers.

The final quarterly exercise with the theme “One Team, One Goal” was held at the Lizzy Sports Complex on Saturday, 2nd December, 2017. Prior to the games, staff from all the 19 business offices of the Bank in Accra embarked on a jogging exercise through some principal streets of the East Legon community in Accra.

Staff of the bank competed in sporting disciplines, including tennis and football; particularly penalty shoot-outs. Other side attractions were dance aerobics, spinning and gym works.

Addressing the staff before the games, the MD/CEO of UBA (Ghana) Limited, Mrs Abiola Bawuah, explained “The motivation behind organising games like this is to bring together all staff of the bank as one family and to put them in good shape. It has over the years presented the platform for staff to actively interact with one another, to renew friendships, and also to increase productivity by ensuring that they are fit in order not to burn out of efficiency”.

“Due to the high demand from workers of the sector and its related stress, it is necessary that they exercise regularly to ensure sound mind and body. The health of a person is the wealth of the nation; at least, as the saying goes” she concluded.

The fun games were simultaneously organised in all regions of the country where UBA operates. UBA Ghana has 28 branches with over 60 fully connected ATMS spotted across the country.
