Kumasi, Aug 11, GNA – Mr Ali Musah, an aspiring Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase Constituency, has denied rumours that he is not a registered member of the Party.
He said it was also untrue that he lied about his educational qualification and that the Party had refunded the nomination fee he paid to him.
Mr Musah told the GNA that he has been a card-bearing member of the NPP since 1992 and the National Leadership had verified this.
“As a loyal and committed activist eager to see the NPP win the December polls, if the Party’s Leadership for any reason should decide to disqualify me from the contest and refund my nomination fee, I would not even take it back.”
“In good faith, I would ask that the money should be kept and used to support the Party’s campaign”.
Mr Musah said: “It is highly unthinkable that I would do anything to embarrass the Party I so much cherish. My political philosophy has always been to subordinate personal ambition to the general good of the Party.”
He appealed to those behind the rumours to stop, as his decision to seek the mandate to contest the election on the ticket of the NPP was motivated by genuine desire to serve the people and the Party and nothing else.
