Old student presents mower to school

Goaso (B/A), Aug 10, GNA – Mr Stephen Nyanor, a Germany-based old student of Ahafoman Secondary/Technical School at Goaso in the Asunafo District, has donated a 4.5 horse power mower valued at 11.5 million cedis to his alma mater.

Mr George Nyanor, his brother who presented the machine, said Stephen’s gesture was in response to an appeal the school authorities made to him last year.

He said his brother had plans to donate teaching and learning materials and equipment to enhance academic work in the school. Mr Akwasi Asamoah, the Headmaster, commended the donor and said the mower would reduce the long hours students spend in weeding the school.

He said the school had become less known in the region largely because of neglect by its products, some of whom are holding responsible positions both at home and abroad.

The headmaster appealed to citizens of Ahafo, especially old students of the school, to assist it with modern education materials to facilitate teaching and learning. 10 Aug 04
