Three Vehicles Involved In Accident On Motorway

Two fuel tankers and a 33 seater Benz bus were at the weekend involved in two separate accidents on the Accra-Tema motorway near the Atomic chapel, claiming one life on the spot. The vehicles involved in the two accidents were a Scania kerosene tanker and a Leyland petrol tanker.

According to Mr. Daniel Asamoah of the fire service headquarters, the Scania caught fire on the motorway so the two drivers attempted to put if off with their fire extinguishers but the tanker loaded with kerosene burst into flames and started burning till the fire fighters were called in.

The two drivers escaped unhurt. In the second accident, a Leyland petrol tanker and a Benz bus, collided just a few metres from the burnt scania, causing the death of the driver?s mate of the Benz bus on the spot. The body of the deceased Mr. Phillip Dapaah has been deposited at the 37 military hospital mortuary.
