Deputy Foreign Minister wins Ejisu-Juaben primaries

Kwaso (Ash), Aug 10, GNA – Mr Akwasi Osei-Adjei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu-Juaben was on Monday re-elected to contest the December polls on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He polled 92 of the 142 votes cast to beat his opponent, Mr Owusu Sekyere, a Surveyor, who got 50 votes at the constituency primaries held at Kwaso, which was supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Speaking after his election, Mr Osei-Adjei expressed his appreciation to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work harder than before to bring more developments to the constituency.

He asked all and sundry now that the primary was over to join hands to campaign for the total victory for the NPP in the December presidential and parliamentary elections.

Mr Owusu Sekyere promised to throw his weight behind Mr Osei-Adjei for the party to win the elections.

Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, Minister of the Interior was among those who witnessed the primaries as well as Mr F.F. Anto, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP and other officers from the Regional Secretariat of the party.
