W/R civil servants want explanation for salary reduction

Takoradi, Aug 10, GNA – Members of the Western Regional Council of the Civil Servants Association (CSA) have called on the Minister of Finance and the Controller and Accountant General to explain the reasons for the reduction of their salaries for July 2004.

They said the salaries paid for the month of July fell below the negotiated salaries paid in June.

This was contained in a resolution signed by Mr. Kwesi O. Odoom, Western Regional Secretary of the CSA.

The resolution further stated that the negotiated salary conversion issued and signed by the forum dated May 24, should be restored. Members of the council called on the National Secretariat to explain if it was involved in the deductions to prevent any industrial action.
