Major Mahama’s autopsy report submitted to court

The Accra Central Magistrate court has received into its custody the autopsy report of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.

The presiding judge Ebenezer Kwaku Ansah, has subsequently ordered the court registry to immediately serve both the prosecution and the Attorney General’s Department with copies of the autopsy report.

According to a report put up by kasapaonline.com, the next hearing of the murder case has been adjourned to December 12. It could be recalled that, the Magistrate Court in October ordered the 37 Military Hospital in Accra to produce the autopsy report to help police CID conduct a proper investigations into the matter.

Justice Ebenezer Kwaku Ansah angrily summoned the Head of Pathology Department at the hospital, Dr Lawrence Adusei for questioning after police prosecutor, DSP George Amega complained to the court about the report.

However, Dr Adusei who appeared before the judge in October told the court that he needed crime scene experts, pictures and ballistic experts in order to conclude his report on November 23, which falls today.

The late army officer, was brutally murdered in May this year by some irate youth of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region, after they accused him of being an armed robber.

Major Mahama’s killing sparked national outraged, forcing the police to arrest over 50 suspects in connection with the murder case. So far, further investigations have reduced the number of suspects to 19 who are currently standing full trial.
