President Rawlings arrives in Paris for Franco- African conference

Paris (France), 26 Nov ’98 – President Jerry John Rawlings accompanied by his wife, Nana Konadu, and Foreign Minister, James Victor Gbeho, is in Paris, France to attend the Franco-African summit.

The Ghanaian delegation was met on arrival by high ranking French officials at the Charles De Gaielle International Airport where President Rawlings inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the French army.

President Rawlings’ presence at the Franco- African summit makes it the first time for Ghanaian leader.

He is expected to take to hold discussions with other leaders attending the summit.

From Paris, the President and his entourage fly to Brussels, Belgium, to meet Ghanaians in the EU capital on Sunday night. GRi’s Paterson Berko reports from Antwerpen that preparations are well underway for the meeting with most Ghanaians armed with questions for the President.
