WVI presents items to schools

Daboase (W/R) Aug. 4 GNA- Eight community schools in the Mpohor Wassa East district in the Western Region were on Wednesday presented with hand washing bowls, towels, first aid boxes, and water storage tanks by the World Vision International (WVI).

The items valued at 15 million cedis included 16 first aid boxes, 80 bowls, 80 towels and 10 medium size water storage tanks. Madam Elisabeth Sagoe, the Area Development Programme (ADP) Manager of the WVI said the items forms part of the School Health Education Programme (SHEP).

The beneficiary schools included Sekyere Himan Methodist Primary and Pre-school, Sekyere Adiembra TT Ahmadiyya Primary and Pre-school, Dwenase catholic Primary and pre-school.

Madam Sagoe said the programme seeks to inculcate the use of water and soap for hand washing in school children.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, Mr. Edward Tawiah Amprofi, the District Chief Executive thanked the donors for the items and said they would be put to good use.
