Brong Ahafo GJA elects officers

The Brong Ahafo regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has elected unopposed a five- member executive to oversee its activities for the next two years.

Mr Leonard V. Amengor, regional correspondent of Radio Ghana, was elected chairman, with Mr Richardson Baidoo of the Ghana News Agency (GNA) as vice chairman.

The post of secretary went to Mr Kwame Asare-Boadu of the “Daily Graphic”, while Mr Emmanuel Adu-Gyamera of Ghana News Agency became assistant secretary.

Mr Kwame Frimpong Manso, also of the GNA, was retained as treasurer.

In his victory speech, Mr Amengor who marks his 20th anniversary in journalism this month, expressed his gratitude to members for the unanimous endorsement of the executive and pledged to introduce programmes to enhance the professional competence of journalists.

The regional manager of the Ghana News Agency and electoral officer, Mr John Osei-Frempong, commended members for ensuring an orderly election.
