Court grants block moulder 15 million-cedi bail for stealing

Tema, 4 Aug. GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ has granted a 15-million-cedi bail to an 18-year-old block moulder, who allegedly stole 1,000 blocks valued at three million cedis.

Warlanyo Apetorgbor pleaded not guilty and will reappear on August 25, 2004.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu, that in December 2003, the complainant engaged the accused as a foreman, at his block factory at Zenu near Ashaiman and travelled to Benin.

She said the accused was entrusted with 4,000 cement blocks to sell, however, when the complainant returned from his trip, he detected that Warlanyo had sold 1,000 blocks but failed to account for the money. Inspector Acquah said on July 22, 2004, the complainant had a tip off that the accused was working at another block factory at Adjei Kojo community, and caused his arrest.
