Ho, Aug 3, GNA- The Ho Central Constituency Polling Station Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday called on the General-Secretary of the Party and its National Executive Committee (NEC) to break their silence on the leadership crisis in the constituency. “Much destruction and oppression had gone on in the their name without a word from them,” they said in a statement that Mr Alfred Kwaku Dumoga, Chairman of Ahoe Market Squares Polling Station, read at a press conference.
It was in reaction to an earlier one that was held two weeks ago during which the Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, questioned the validity of a constituency delegates’ conference a Ho High Court mandated on July 2, at which new executives were elected. The Polling Station Chairpersons declared their support for the new executive and said any attempt to suspend, dismiss or take any disciplinary action against any of the executive would “constitute an affront to their collective wisdom and integrity of the party”.
The Chairpersons said the July 2 elections that put the new constituency executives into office were “as clear as a crystal glass and were fraught with no irregularities and anomalies as falsely alleged.”
Mr Dumoga said it was time to stop the practice of experimenting with the party in the constituency. He said they were ready for an amicable resolution of the problem but would not succumb to any further “arm-twisting tactics”.
