Ayisi Boateng has ‘denied’ rendering apology – Koku Anyidoho

Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr Gorge Ayisi Boateng has denied claims he rendered an unqualified apology for his divisive comments according to Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho.

“He is still walking around in Kumasi boasting that he stands by the comments. What is being circulated in the media circles as an apology was written at the Flagstaff House without his knowledge? I am told he said he has not written any apology letter”, he disclosed on Okay FM on Monday.

Mr Anyidoho observed that if the apology was indeed from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, he would have spoken to it on various radio networks but since the sham of an apology was issued, he has remained mute and behind the scenes denied the contents of the so-called apology.

He doubts the genuineness of the apology stating:”let us hear his voice if indeed he has apologised so that we can trust he authored the apology letter himself. What I am hearing is that he said he has no regrets and still stands by the comments”

According to him, he should speak to the cameras for one minute to express his regrets about his divisive comments rather than being in the quiet to make it appear as though he is the originator of the apology.

While wondering why someone outspoken like Ayisi Boateng will go quiet after such an apology, he believes there is a grand conspiracy to cover up for him.

“Until Ayisi Boateng speaks, we will not accept his apology henceforth”
